Montecristo’s first Nicaraguan puro, made with the Plasencia family — medium-to-full, bold and spicy, in vintage Jalapa tobaccos.

Espada is Spanish for sword, and the first Montecristo made entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco. Blended by the Grupo de Maestros with the Plasencia family and rolled at Plasencia’s Nicaraguan factory, it is a puro drawn from the country’s great growing regions: a vintage 2010 Habano wrapper from Jalapa over a 2009 Jalapa binder, with a 2008 filler trio of Jalapa seco, Ometepe viso and Condega ligero. Bold, spicy and layered — black pepper, cedar, espresso and dark earth over a sweet core — this is the medium-to-full Montecristo for smokers who want the marque with teeth. Presented in suede-covered boxes of ten.
A 6″ x 60 gordo, the fullest-bodied presentation of the Espada blend.
